FRIENDS OF VERULAMIUM PARK

St Albans

Volunteers wanted for the RSPB Heron Watch in Verulamium Park

RSPB will be running another ‘heron watch’ on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (10am to 4pm) for ten weeks, from February 19th to April 25th, 2010. As in previous years they will welcome volunteers to talk to visitors to their trailer, and will provide training. You can volunteer for a couple of hours, or a whole day, or even more.

If you would like to volunteer, or have any questions, please contact James McComiskey on 01603 661662 or james.mccomiskey@rspb.org.uk. RSPB will welcome your help.

The Friends were established in 2000 to bring together those who care about Verulamium Park.
The park is owned by the St Albans City and District Council, and maintained by their contractors.

It covers part of the Roman city of Verulamium.

We keep a 'watching eye' on the park as park users, encouraging and helping those with formal
responsibilities to ensure that this beautiful open space is well maintained
for the community and for future generations.

The Friends organize frequent talks and activities, and publish three Newsletters a year.

See our recent programme and future plans.

Our aim is to preserve the natural beauty of this precious space
